The Three Amigos

Laurelai just LOVES her cousins and was so excited that they were able to come over last weekend for a visit after her dance recital. They had so much fun playing together.

My Prima Ballerina

Since August, Laurelai has been going to ballet lessons once a week. There for a while I think it was more of an excuse to socialize rather than dance. When she found out there was going to be a performance, she began to get serious about her dance. So serious, that for the last two days she told me her tummy hurt. When I got to the bottom of the ache, we realized it was because she was a little worried about dancing on the "big" stage in front of everyone. Once I told her as long as she tried her best and that it was OK if she made a mistake, she was all gung-ho and ready to go. The performance was absolutely adorable and I will post some video later this week. I am proud of my little ballerina. She did her best and had so much fun.

Preschool Performance

Wow, my little baby is growing up so fast. It is hard to believe that her first year of preschool is coming to an end. She has LOVED school so much this year. Everyday she wakes up with a bright smile and asks if it is a school day. She was very disgusted back in April when she had a week off for spring break. "What do we need a break for anyway, mommy?" She said when she woke up that Tuesday morning and was determined she was going to go to school anyway. Last week her class did a spring performance. Laurelai was front row, center. There was no doubt that she knew every word and hand motion as she belted out the songs from the top of her lungs. Everyone enjoyed the songs that the kids had worked so hard on. At the end of the day, when I went back to pick up Laurelai, the director of the preschool stopped me and said, "We've all decided that Laurelai is probably going to end up being a performer some day." She is such a people person, I wouldn't doubt it.

Picking a Pail of Perfect Strawberries

It is spring in Georgia and that means it's time to pick some yummy Strawberries. Laurelai and I went out to the local strawberry patch and had so much fun finding the most perfect strawberries to put in our bucket. She loved going up and down the rows and rows of strawberries looking for just the right ones to pick. I was very proud of her because she filled the whole bucket herself. It was a really fun morning for mom and daughter. As we were getting in the car, she said, "Thanks for taking me to pick strawberries mommy, I had so much fun with you today,"......PRICELESS. Oh how I sometimes wish I could freeze time!

Laurelai Visits Brenau

Laurelai has been asking alot of questions about college and where I went. I thought May Day would be the perfect opportunity to take her to my old stomping grounds. We had a great time together and she got to see and learn about college life....new and old. She really liked the campus and is already smart enough to be a Brenau girl someday if she wants to be.
